(KRON) -- We all know about wine and cheese…But what about wine and spring rolls? Or pork bao buns? That's the kind of tasting you'll get at RD Winery in Napa. The Vietnamese owned business aims to highlight the versatility of wine and food. RD is the first Vietnamese owned winery in Napa. While their production is small -- just 2,000 cases a year --they're hoping to make a big impact on the industry. ‘We Are Bruce Lee’ exhibit in SF Chinatown honors iconic martial arts star Mailynh Phan says while RD has technically been producing wine since 2012, for the first several years they were only exporting back to Vietnam. In 2020, they shifted their focus, opening the big blue tasting room off Highway 29.This facility was originally Hakusan Sake, which was the first sake place in Napa. This was back in the early 1990s, so there's a history of firsts here. Cherry blossom trees rumored to be a gift from a Japanese emperor still decorate the parking lot in pink. SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — As California lawmakers hail the work of a historic panel that has delved into reparations proposals for African Americans for nearly two years, a state senator on the task force is warning Black residents to not assume that large cash payments are on the way.Democratic Sen. Steven Bradford, of Los Angeles, said “anything’s possible if the money’s there,” but he remains “realistic” that it could be difficult to garner enough support for large payments at a time when lawmakers haven’t even debated where the money would come from.“I don’t want to set folks’ expectations and hopes up that they’re going to be getting, you know, seven-figure checks,” Bradford said in an interview. “That’s just not happening.”The task force on Saturday approved proposals in its final report, which is officially due to lawmakers by July 1. They included estimates from economists who say the state is responsible for more than $500 billion due to decades of o...Fermin’s bunt in ninth gives Royals 4-3 win over White Sox

Two climbers last heard from as they prepared to scale a peak in Alaska’s Denali National Park and Preserve last week are believed dead, the park said Thursday.Leaders of the search efforts “have concluded that survival is outside the window of possibility,” citing the rocky terrain, the climbers’ limited supplies, temperatures dipping as low as 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-15 Celsius) overnight and the time that has passed since the men were last heard from, according to a statement from the park. Eli Michel, 34, of Columbia City, Indiana, and Nafiun Awal, 32, of Seattle, were last heard from on May 5, when they checked in with a friend using a satellite communication device before setting out to climb on the 10,300-foot (3,140-meter) peak called the Moose’s Tooth, the park has said. LARKSPUR, Colo. (KDVR) -- A well-known barn, just off of Interstate 25 in Larkspur, was completely destroyed by a fire caused by lightning early Thursday morning. Eric Usher and his family live on the Greenlands Ranch property that houses the big red barn. They were awakened by the crack of lightning around 3:30 Thursday morning, but little did they know, the damage that lightning would leave behind."I stayed awake and about an hour, hour and a half after my son came out and asked if I had seen that the barn was on fire and then we proceeded to go out and check everything out and go across the street and let the neighbor know about his horses," Usher said. Rainfall record broken at Denver International Airport The horses were luckily in the field surrounding the barn, so no animals were inside the barn. Usher said the Larkspur Fire Department arrived within 10 minutes, but the flames were already throughout the entirety of the barn. Eventually, they were able to get the fire unde...Latest news
